Deuteronomy 3

Even though Moses did ask to visit the Promise Land before he died, he was denied. He was permitted to look at it from atop mount Pisgah. He was also required to encourage Joshua to be the one to lead the people over the river Jordan and into the Promise Land.

This is a lot to ask of Moses, who dedicated over 40 years of his life; even through the most extreme circumstances of mankind, to only look at that which he toiled so vigorously to achieve... and then to encourage someone else to take the People over to possess it.

How many times have we been granted that which we so earnestly desire, only to fall short of it because of our own disobedience? God wanted Moses to know that all of his effort was not in vain, and that his goal had in fact been achieved. He wanted to also show all who may understand, that He is a just God, and that none shall defy Him.

If I want something and I petition the help of the Lord, I must also understand that to enlist His help is to also enlist myself in His direction. There are exact results to every exact action. God has exact instructions for us to follow, that will bring about an exact result. I realize that there are many times that “something similar” will do just fine. This is not a time to obey only “in general” the instruction of God.

No matter what we ask of God, He wants only what is best for us. He will provide exactly what He will provide. Our only harmonic option is to accept the will of God, and follow in a Solid Onward Walk.
