Deuteronomy 4

Moses addressed the People to encourage them to continue to follow the direction and lifestyle that God had taught them during the 40 years in the wilderness. Even after Moses did ask God to permit him to go over to just take a look at the infamous Promise Land, and even after God denied him the request, and did permit him to look at the land from atop the mountain, a distance that would allow Moses to see the whole land, Moses was obedient to God’s final decision and settled the matter by simply obeying God.

This is it. Finally, the People are ready, or as ready as they are going to be, to go over to take possession of the land of Canaan, the Promised Land.
