1 Samuel 30

When David found out that his wives were kidnaped and that his company’s families were taken also, he must have felt very emotional. I think I would have felt strongly panicked if this thing happened to me. David lived in a time of great hostility and was readily able to handle this situation. Even in the gravest of circumstance, such as this, David did inquire of the Lord, to seek His will. David would have done exactly as the Lord had instructed, even if it meant that David should lose his beloved wives. The Lord would not have it that this enemy should go to and fro flaunting and bragging that, “this is David’s spoil”. It is well known at this time that David is the Lord’s anointed and next in line for the thrown of Israel.

It would have been a terrible result if this enemy would have gotten away with the deed they had performed. As it turned out, they did not get far until David, the Lord’s anointed, had overtook them and recovered all that they had taken. David killed them all and took everything they had. All in all, David had more than before, thank you very much.

This is the way God blesses those who seek after His will in situations. We can overcome and redeem all that we lost if we seek His will and only His will. Our will must be completely surrendered to follow Him alone, no matter what His will is and no matter how it seems to be at the time. What the enemy means for evil, God means for good, to bring the most glory to Him. Let it be known this day that God will not be mocked. Do not come against the Lord’s anointed. He will overcome all and defeat all in a way that only He can.
