Commentary
Lord, Jesus I praise You. I lift up my voice to You now, my father, my friend. I am so grateful for You will in my life. I thank You for working it out, even if the observer does not understand how it could possibly be alright, You give me peace. You give me a calm surrender. I am well in You. I receive Your Word in Jesus' name for Jesus' sake.
I think about a time as a child when all 5 of us children would sit with each other playing a game called Risk. My younger sister wanted to join in on this one, with my older brother and I. Oh, sometimes we cheated. We would make up the rules as we go along or we would establish some rules from the beginning that will cause us to win, no matter what. As the game played out, my little sis would get the idea she was destined to lose, and as often as not, she would not even realize that it was because of the rules that were set from the beginning. Do you see a connection here?
Paul established, once and for all, that the rules in this battle are already set. It is already determined that the Jesus Team will win. Not only will we bring home the victory; a multitude of rescued souls, but we will have abundant life while we do it!. Paul wraps up the first 7 chapters and brings this warfare some essential Kingdom Keys for a certain victory. The Word empowers us here, as Holders Of The Light. Where there is light there is no darkness at all. Speak the Word and evil will flee.
The power of life that Jesus demonstrated in His earth time is in us now. We are to use it. It is our "sure win". As Jesus had said so many times before, "go and sin no more".
