1 Kings 17
Blessings and Provisions Abound
This chapter has very special meaning to me. We have been learning about the balance between God's perfect justice and mercy. Neither of these will depart from us. Though the world may go through a famine, or that we should be found in ill-repute because of our choices, nevertheless, God will continue to provide for us. We may find that His will is established in us by some of the most unlikely means, perhaps even beyond our furthest imagination, yet He will make a way where there seems no way.
Let it serve as a reminder yet again, nothing is too great or too small for God. In our daily dealings, some of us may venture further and further from the intimacy of our walk with God, maybe even think He is not real. Maybe you have had times when you thought that God was not real all along, that He was a concept meant only to keep us "good-motivated". This is simply not true. God will reveal Himself yet again.
Sooner or later we will experience something that goes beyond all rational thinking and scientific explanation and all we can do is resolve to the very fact that God is not a concept. He is reality. If none will feed you, God will send the raven. If the raven don't come, God will even make something where there was nothing at all. Reach again into the barrel and pour from the cruse. It is not empty... it is full and fresh.
