Commentary

2 Samuel 2

It seems that David's fighting will never come to peace. Even from his youth he fought lions and bears to protect the flock of sheep. There is an understanding that I have come to in regards to God's blessings and anointing. Surely we much keep guard over our hearts and minds to seek only after God. There are seemingly endless battles too keep that which the Lord has given. We ought not to ever allow anything or anyone put asunder that which the Lord has given. Maybe we have received a blessing of a lifetime, such as leadership of a very important nature. What struggle to keep it if those who appose should rise up (even in secret) to throw you down from on high, where the Lord has placed you. What will you do? How will you respond? Remember always that your actions now will impact the remainder of your life. Fear not, however, for the Lord is with you. Should you make a mistake, with a pure heart give it to the Lord. He will forgive you. Will YOU forgive you? Will YOU repent of your ways, or will you cause the Lord to repent the very blessing He had bestowed upon you? Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. He will direct you.

Even your errors and mistakes can be made to benefit and prosper you if you seek Him and trust in Him. Follow where He leads. You will have victory and peace. You have God's word on it!
