Deuteronomy 6

So far, in our Journey Through The Bible, we might get a strong impression that this whole thing is about receiving the Land of Promise. Really, it's not about the land at all. This whole thing is really about establishing a nation under God. America was once a nation under God. Most of the members of this nation will admit that God is as unwelcome here as He is in almost the entire rest of the world. It used to be said that if we allow the freedom of Christianity then we must also allow the freedom of the cults and The Occult, or Buddhism, or whatever. The truth is, all of these other religions are welcome, but Christianity is widely rejected by nearly every leadership office in the entire world, especially in America.
My hope in God would be sorely hindered if this whole thing was about possessing land. Sadly, most of our world wars are because either land possession or religious freedoms. I would much rather fight about my freedom of religion than I would about land rights. However, if I don't own the land rights, I don't have any freedoms in that land, except for the ones that are already established. Here, in America, I do have land rights, but I don't have my full religious freedoms. This is the beginning of the very issue that began the great exodus in the days of old.
Moses presented a request to Pharaoh to let the People go outside of Egypt to offer sacrifices to God. They wanted to exercise a religious freedom that would be repulsive to the Egyptians. The true motivating factor of this request was so that Moses can free the People from slavery, and not just religious freedoms, or not just for that one worship ceremony. The request was presented before Pharaoh, and he denied the request. Just as the Ten Commandments are denied in the courtrooms, and prayer is denied in the classrooms. Perhaps one day it will no longer be our country slogan, "in God we trust".
This is a time for our country to really take heed to these recent chapters. We can see clearly what will become of all opposition when God raises up His Chosen People to take back the rights and freedoms of our Promise Land. Until then, we need to adhere to these statutes and commandments in our households and in our hearts. We need to wear them on our face like frontlets, so we can see only that, and so that they will serve as  armor that cannot be penetrated.
