Christian 12 Steps
Step 7: Humility
By G. Neil Armstrong
Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
Assignment 1 & 2
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God told Paul that His grace is sufficient; that His strength is made perfect in weakness. This being the case, I seed to establish in me a kingd of weakenss that God can manifest His perfect strength. This kind of surrender is the foundation, the ver root of humility. To say, “not my will, but Thy will be done.”
If I focus on an ideal outcome and such and such interrupts, interferes, hinders, or even overcomes, to result in falling short of it, that actual outcome is God’s perfect will. In that, I am content. My effort is to no longer murmur. I aim to NOT struggle against an outcome that has resulted in an honest effort. I place myself at the base of this result and I will work well with what is before me. In this will be my assignment – perfect from the Lord.
Who am I that I should aim so high and to accomplish a good work in such a high thing? Where is God’s will in it, if my will is some place else? How can I esteem God’s will as a “falling short” if His result is not where I willed my result to be?
God’s will is of utmost importance. My will is less than. No longer will I settle for less. IN this I say, “not my will, but Thy will be done.” This I yield to You, O Lord. I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
