Prayer to God
Almighty God, who is greater than You, that I should fear any man or beast? Or, who could
overcome me that You could not utterly cast down? Unto
Thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul, O my God, I trust in The: let me not be
ashamed, let my mine enemies triumph over me.
Restrain me O Lord, that I recompense to no man evil for
evil; and that I be not overcome of evil. Let me overcome evil with good. Help
me to find it within me to live peaceably with all men.
If I give him to drink, and if I do feed him who shall rise
up against me in mischief or vain babblings, if he should bear false witness
against me or sow discord among us; then let me see his inner soul. Let me to
understand from his heart why he is trying to hid his
pain. Help me to bring an act of love that will result in a healing for him.
I understand full well that as Your
light does shine, all things are revealed and nothing is hidden. O Lord, expose
the secret things of my heart and of the heart of any who should come against
me. In this way I may slow to my anger and have compassion for his weakness. I
shall not be moved by any less than all which is good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will with You, O God.
Lord, I give it all to You. I give
You all my hopes and dreams, all of my deepest needs.
Do with me as Thou will. I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
