Light, Love, Life

By G. Neil Armstrong

A person ought to never teach about something that is not certain or clearly true to that person, no matter how accurate the facts do happen to be. A person ought to know such a thing by experience also, via practical application. A person ought to have an intimate manifestation of such a fact so as to say it is tried and found true.

To know to do something good and then to don’t do it, that person has sinned. This kind of sin is by omission. As a lost and unsaved man, I was in a daily practice of sin that I did deliberately commit. This is what I have come to know as sin by commission. When I give my life and will over to the Lord for eternal life, I know this to be salvation. I make effort then, to deliberately NOT do these that I learn to have been sin.

I search myself daily to seek out the subtle things of corruption, that result in anything less than life, and that more abundantly. I do find these things, but not by my effort of searching my soul… not in it’s entirety. I find more clearly the corruptible thing when I more diligently seek God and His will for me. As I learn and understand this will, I must do this will. Now, my sin is more often because I didn’t do something ready and willing, rather than something I have deliberately done wrong.

God leads me in His will, as I learn it, by His Spirit in me. I am led by the Spirit of God; therefore I am a son of God. This truth established, I came to understand that I am a joint heir with Jesus to the inherent power of God to do His will more effectively.

This is a process, but it only works well when I walk in Jesus’ light. To learn about Jesus, the things He taught and still teaches today – Spiritually, and to recognize the corruptible things for what they are; this is to walk in the light. This walk is a fellowship, a family bond with God and with each other who have a genuine effort – commitment to be one with God.

I live in the hope that no unclean thing goes unnoticed in my life. This, too, is living in the light. I will not hold any good thing from a person in need because God will not hold any good thing from me. I do this unto the Lord and for the purpose of lifting Jesus up from the earth. The result is the goal, to draw all men unto Him.

This is my reasonable service. This I do in Jesus’ name. This I do in accord with Matthew 10:8
