Dysfunctional
By G. Neil Armstrong
Verse 1:
Consistency – word of the Day
Stranger to the one who never remains
Until he looks back
To see with his eye
Being honest with himself
Trying not to lie (bum bum bum bum bum)
Then I think back – trying hard to see
All the little things that was wrong with me
Seeing with my eye what’s wrong in my head
It’s so hard to accept so I turn to sin instead
It took a lot of time – it took a lot of thinking
I had a lot of trouble as I done all that drinking
The drugs didn’t help – they failed to set me free
Still one single word kept coming back to me
Dysfunctional? Oh, now I see!
Chorus:
How much longer will this world have to suffer?
If ya don’t help yourself it’s going to get a whole lot tougher
Seeing with your eyes what’s wrong inside your head
It’s so hard to accept so you often turned to sin instead
But being dysfunctional don’t just go away
You got to try real hard and work at it everyday
Verse 2:
Now back to the word “consistency”
Because it seems to me the way to be free
Is to see what’s wrong and do what’s right
Remember, sin won’t leave unless you give it a fight
I said, being dysfunctional don’t just go away
You got to try real hard and work at it everyday
