Commentary
by G. Neil Armstrong
Jesus is the bridge between God and ourselves. The seperation occured because of our sin. Every good and perfect thing comes from God, and what we do with it results in that which is good, or that which is evil. The human being is the beloved of God. He set us upon the earth with a unique gift. God granted us "free will". With this free will, we are enabled to decide all of our actions. This gift is not to be taken lightly. It is the most difficult thing to persue the riches of the Lord when the riches of the Earth are ever present and esteemed as "real".
Reality plagues us, we glimpse something amiss. "What have we missed? Where is this "Lord" that everyone is talking about? How can God be real? I don't see anything." These are but a few of the things we battle in our mind as we take this "free will" for granted. We might begin to think it was us who made all this accomplishment. Who decided that what we have created in this world is anything remotely resembling an accomplishment? I mean, where is the Lord in all of it? At what point will all this "accomplishment" actually exalt the Lord, God Almighty?
As I randomly selected a chapter for my meditation this morning, I opted to select a chapter in Jeremiah. However, the page landed here and I was refreshed by its contents. I am remined anew those things I have scarcely considered of late. God is with us. Are we with Him?
Father, please forgive our shortcomings. Please forgive our deliberate sin and the sin we aren't even aware of. Please develop within each of us the sight to see where the sin is, what it is from and how best to overcome it. Let all of this be to further Your kingdom, and for Your glory. Thank You for giving me freedom. I pray in Jesus' name, amen.
