Scaredy Cat
By G. Neil Armstrong
Moses said, “who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
Who are we, and what are our lives that we should fear another man above the very One who created and breathed life into man? Are we confused? Is the sword mightier then the bullet? All right, let me as you this: Are you afraid of the man, or are you afraid of the “after life”? Think about it and answer later.
Where is our confidence? Is it the big man, weighing in at 290 lbs, or is it the cracked ribs and broken arm that we MIGHT get FROM him? What about the Master, The Great Physician? Him who is able to do exceeding more than we asked or even imagine (Ephesians 3:30)…what about HIM? Oh, ye of little faith. Hear ye the Word, and BELIEVE Psalm 91: a thousand shall fall at thy side TEN THOUSAND at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. All we need to do is BE a Christian – even in our secret lives. He will give us staying power. We can face the giants – with confidence!
Don’t be afraid of what the other 19 guys think of you, because you have authority over the angels of God (Psalm 91:11). Be confidant, my brother… not arrogant and NOT timid. Don’t be a closet Christian. Where would your help be if we don’t stand together in numbers? Two are better than one, and three is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12).
Matthew 10:38 is our warning to take this Christianity, even if it costs our lives – if not, we will die a permanent death – unworthy of Christ. If we lose our life, we will live forever – with Him (verse 29).
I know that you believe… I KNOW you do! Why else would you be here? Why else would you bother to read this? Not one of you is afraid to appear tough. How many of us are brave enough to PROVE it? Show your strength now. Why not surrender to Jesus now. Right now. Right nowwwww! Don’t be a Scaredy Cat!
